REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT

Aircraft Warning Streamers and Danger Tag

Ever wonder why these are needed on an aircraft?

All aircraft, whether Military Civilian, will require the use of warning streamers and danger tags when they are parked on the ground. These streamers and tags are attached to protective devices, such as covers and pins, to prevent access or inadvertant use or activation by crew. Safety covers are used for engine air intake ducts, pitot static probes, or missile seeker heads, while safety pins are inserted into landing gears and ejection seats.

These bright red streamers and tags also serve as a reminder for crews to remove them before the aircraft flies. Can you imagine what will happen if they are flown with the covers and pins still attached?

Now you know!
